Infused Water (Recipes and Benefits).
Updated: Sep 8, 2020
Water is very important when it comes to health and well-being, the NHS recommends that you should drink between 6-8 glasses of water per day, however if partaking in any sporting activities we recommend consuming at least 2 litres throughout the day.
But I've got to admit, H2O by itself is a little boring. No offence to regular water, it’s great don’t get me wrong, but water with extra minerals and vitamins sounds a lot more refreshing.
Infused water isn’t a revolutionary new thing, you can always find a big jug of it at a spa or your local health bar. But it’s more than just for decoration or a way to flavour water.
We here at Flx are going to show you how easy it is to combine a few ingredients which will add some taste and healthy benefits to your daily water intake.
These recipes are just a guideline, personally I use a handful of each ingredient but it’s totally up to you how much you put in, if you want less or more then go for it.
Let’s start with something simple:
Lemon slices + lime slices + cucumber slices (Digestion)
These three ingredients are the most common used. Together these three help improve with your digestion and whilst also helping to control your appetite, the more you drink the less you’d want to eat, an easy way to stop those cravings.
Orange + apple + ginger (Immune system)
Winter is round the corner, let’s approach it with a strong immune system. These ingredients pack a major vitamin C hit, So it will not only strengthen your immune system. It will also give you boots every time you take a swig.
Okay now let's look at something more complex:
Pineapple + lemon + pomegranate (Detox)
After a weekend of partying or a really long cheat day, you may want to get your body back on track with a good old detox. Drink a bottle a day for one week and you’ll be ready to do it all over again. All three ingredients are packed with antioxidants and vitamin C that are known to help your liver filter toxins.
Watermelon + blueberry + mint (Muscle recovery)
Picture this; you’ve had a hard workout and you’re thinking to yourself “I’m going to be sore tomorrow morning” well if you use this infusion you won’t be thinking that anymore. Drinking these three ingredients after your workout will have you jumping up ready to smash out another session in no time.
We encourage you to play around with these recipes, there are endless combinations you could try yourself . We’d love to hear from you guys what concoctions you create.
